Drywall & Plaster Repair in San Francisco
Holes, cracks, water damage and the patch somebody else left behind. Small jobs most contractors will not return a call about, done properly and finished so the repair does not announce itself once the paint is on.
Common reasons people call
- A hole from a door handle, a shelf or a move
- Cracks reappearing along the same line every year
- A stain or soft patch after a leak
- A previous repair that still shows through the paint
- Holes left after removing a TV mount or cabinetry
What the job involves
Repair
- Hole patching, small through to full sheet
- Crack repair and bridging
- Water-damaged board replacement
- Corner bead and edge repair
- Ceiling repairs
Finishing
- Taping, filling and sanding
- Texture matching to the surrounding wall
- Priming ready for paint
- Painting the repair in, if you want it done in one visit
A crack that keeps reopening means something is moving
If the same crack reopens every year, filling it again will not fix it. It usually means movement: settlement, a framing issue, or moisture behind the wall. We would rather find out which before patching it, because the patch is the cheap part and doing it three times is not.
Common questions
Can you match the existing texture?
Yes. Matching texture is most of what makes a patch invisible. Orange peel, knockdown and smooth are all straightforward; a hand-applied finish on an older plaster wall takes longer but can be matched.
Do you paint afterwards?
If you want us to. We can leave it primed and ready for your painter, or finish it in the same visit, which is usually cheaper than two trips.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. We come out, look at the actual job, and quote it. That free visit is how we price everything. Pricing a job properly usually means seeing it, which is why we do not give firm numbers over the phone.
Do you cover my area?
We work across San Francisco, the Peninsula and the East Bay. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call and ask. The answer is usually yes.
